I started this compilation with no other thoughts than to just explore other bands and to help reach other people with not just American Goner but with other friends bands. It turned into a huge undertaking which I loved every part of. I met some great people and discovered a bunch of amazing bands and artists. Then it dawned on me about a week into thinking about doing it, "what if the comp was to raise money for something positive" and after about two weeks of looking at things, talking to people and doing research I had it narrowed down to a few different people/places that the money would go. Then out of a five minute conversation with a friend I found out that someone I knew, who has a teenage daughter {only a few years older than my two kids} and who has beaten cancer once already was told that the cancer they thought she had gotten rid of completely was back and worse than ever before and that's when I knew that any money raised from this comp would be going directly to the family. I've seen first hand what being sick cause do not just on a physical scale but on an emotional scale as well as a financial one. So whatever money this raises, if its a dollar or if its a million will be going directly to the family. Who else is in better need?
So to all of you who are listening to this, who actively sought this out, who are just here because you stumbled upon this little offering of music, please donate, whether its 10 cents of ten bucks. All of it will be so helpful. Trust me, as a struggling musician, I know how much even a dollar can mean to someone, and as someone who doesn't have alot of money I know how much a dollar can mean to myself.
